This article has been checked against the following criteria for B-class status:
DENCOM no longer exists as such. There is no longer a dental sub-MACOM under MEDCOM. There is a G-3/5/7 Dental Directorate. Additionally, there are no longer Regional Dental Commands, but sub-Directorates. Dental Activities have been officially reclassified as Dental Health Activities (the DENTAC abbreviation is still permitted, mostly due to possible confusion with the Defense Health Agency).
All this being said, I am aware of the situation through official communication via command channels. I've had a devil of a time finding published information on this transition. If anyone can find anything (perhaps from the Fort Sam Houston newspaper, or maybe something in a San Antonio newspaper), it would bring this article back up to date.
