Since he now has a few neo-classical albums out, The citation can be easily refreced.
It doesn't appear to be in any danger of being removed actually. But, it doesn't perhaps warrant a reasonable citation or assertion by an established neno-classicist musician(s) that the statement is indeed accepted. --

I am looking for the source of some recordings made by both Ritchie Blackmoore, and Uli Roth that occured about the same time, ( i.e. they were refrenced in the popular music press)
Ritchie Blackmore
Ritchie Blackmore had left Deep Purple (he would return many years later) with an eye towards forming his own band. It was 1975 and the guitarist rounded up ex-Elf singer and various other players to create Rainbow, a Purple-sounding ensemble that mixed elements of Medieval and classical music.
Uli Roth quit UFO to pursue more classical style music (1978)( He played with them 1973~1978)
Malmsteen was out in 1984, 9 years after Rainbow.
The best idea would be to label him a pioneer of neo-classical, like the Deep-Purple article.
Critics?
"Roth appeared in concert at Castle Donington in 2001 with original Scorpions lead guitarist Michael Schenker, and critics noted the healthy appearance of Roth and his mastery of his material, but described Schenker as past his prime."
Although I have played the material since I was in my teens, and have followed Michael Schenker for decades:
A) This is unsorced (There has been some critizsm of his performance on video, but thats by youtube wankers.
B) This is untrue
C) You can see for yourself in youtube, both guitarists playing the same song, written my Moog/Schenker "Rock Bottom"
His apprence is consistant with what his german/norse heritage would be, but his style, tecnique, timing and tone all point to both a maturity, and to his greatness. His stage presence is what is lacking. He is not the youth that most of his videos of 15~20 years earler indicate.
You can see, that Uli Roth shows his mature intrepretation of Schenker's leads, and you can see Schenker both playing his early work, and also improvising.
If you want, since I know the material well, I can provide a note by note intrepretation, but that would be aginst wikipedia's policies...
This was justifiable criticism so I have rewritten the article to make it more encyclopaedic and removed unreferenced material. Can I suggest that if anyone takes exception to this we debate it on this talk page rather than simply reverting it. Thanks.

Requested move

requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
This page should be moved to the Title: "Uli Jon Roth" which is his correct artist name.
It would improve consistency over Wikipedia and other citations (cf.
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uli_Jon_Roth). It is
unusual and missleading to use the birth name instead of the artist name. You would expect to find an artist page
of Jimi Hendrix for example not with the title of his birthname "James Marshall". — Preceding
