six or seven gangs?

The lede refers to seven gangs, elsewhere six. Ϣere SpielChequers 19:49, 31 December 2016 (UTC) reply

Good catch. There appears to be conflicting information between sources. Manycinemas.org reports seven gangs, while IHT reports only six. — k6ka 🍁 ( Talk · Contributions) 20:06, 31 December 2016 (UTC) reply
If both those sources are valid then what do you think of a phrasing such as "six or seven gangs (the sources differ)" Ϣere SpielChequers 05:57, 1 January 2017 (UTC) reply
Thepoc.net also reports six gangs. As far as I know, while looking up sources for this article, manycinemas was the only source that ever said "seven", which leads me to think that the "seven" was an error (If I made an error about the error I'm all ears).
The phrase "six or seven gangs (the sources differ)" sounds a bit clunky to me. Perhaps the text should continue to mention "six gangs" with a footnote mentioning that "some sources report seven rival gangs". Kind of like:
"Fifty-two members of six rival gangs [Note 1]..."
  1. ^ Some sources report seven rival gangs.
I'm not willing to dismiss the manycinemas source entirely, since it's the only source I could find that mentioned precisely "fifty-two gang members". — k6ka 🍁 ( Talk · Contributions) 14:56, 1 January 2017 (UTC) reply
That sounds sensible. But the Note would be better as "unlike the other sources, Manycinemas referred to seven gangs" Ϣere SpielChequers 16:12, 1 January 2017 (UTC) reply
Looks good. Added it in to explain the confusion. — k6ka 🍁 ( Talk · Contributions) 23:49, 1 January 2017 (UTC) reply
