If you look through the edit history of this article, you'll see a prolonged tussle over whether Sir Thomas had a middle name or not. I've dug out the two gazette notices that go with his KCMG and GCMG and indeed, there's no sign of a middle name there. Hence, the good people at the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography may have it wrong, and I've written to them and suggested that they look into this. I guess we will see in the fullness of time whether or not they change his entry. Schwede 66 18:59, 26 September 2016 (UTC) reply
