You wouldn't know it to read it, butthis article is about one of the 108 Divya Desams, among the most venerable holy places of Vaishnavism: it needs sourcing and rewriting but notability cannot be in doubt. Actually, Bhaktavatsala Perumal is not a different deity . Presiding Deity or moolavar(in tamil known as 'moolavar') is Yoga Narasimha swamy present in top of the hill while the Bhaktavatsala Perumal other name is 'Thakkan' is procession deity or utsavar(in tamil known as 'utsavar') in bottom of hill near Sholingur town. Only during the November month Bhaktavatsala perumal is brought to the top of hill. This month will be celebrated with great happiness, exult and devotion. Hanuman is in yogic posture meditates in small hillock. hence three shrine appears.
The etmology of Thirukadigai is as follows, Saptha rishis got the vision and blessings of Narasimha in yogic posture in the top of the hill (i.e big hill) for 24 minutes. 24 minutes is known as 'Kadigai' in sanskrit. Hence the name thirukkadigai. Other names are 'Kadigai malai' means 'kadigai hill'. In 108 divya desams this shirine is known as Thirukkadigai. sholingur or sholingapuram is the town where this holy site, Thirukadigai is located. The two hillocks big and small ones are located in a village named 'Kondapalayam' one of village in sholingur. All the names have their significance. kondapalayam, konda means hill and palayam denotes the place or village. The 36 feet Hanuman statue is located on the entrance of this kondapalayam, which is the entrance of the 2 hillock temples.
Pushkarni or Theertham is term used for the pond or water storage area which is said to be divine and medic in nature.
