That section of the article is total bunk! Spoken as a Foreign Service ATCK. Cross-cultural experience generally leads to greater openmindedness, and LESS. not more, conformance to "authority figures."

– Concur. Even the referenced paper does not conclude everyone in all situation will have increased authoritarianism.
