In January 1836, agents purchased the sloop-of-war Austin and the brig Wharton. How exactly is it that on 16 May 1843 the Texas Navy sloop-of-war Austin and brig Wharton engaged Mexican naval vessels when by the middle of 1837, all of the ships had been lost at sea, sunk by the Mexican Navy, run aground, captured, or sold...?

The article could be improved, in the introductory section, referring to the fates of the boats. From the separate articles for each boat, 2 ran aground (same day & place), 1 captured, and 1 sold, none lost at sea, and none sunk by the Mexican Navy, by October of 1837. — Preceding
