I removed clearly unsubstantiated and incorrect facts. The Napier seat was held by
Russell Fairbrother from 2002 - 2005. He lost that election to
Chris Tremain who was re-elected in 2008. While Stuart Nash contested the 2008 election, Chris Tremain was re-elected. The stated facts clearly conflicts with the
Napier (New Zealand electorate) page
I'm afraid you have misread the page. The page says that "Nash contested the 2008 selection". this is an internal Labour party contest. He lost this and therefore Fairbrother went on to contest Tremain at the election NOT Nash. The fact is also referenced.
