Image:StaticPrevails.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under
fair use but there is no
explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the
boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with
fair use.
Please go to
the image description page and edit it to include a
fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at
Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on
criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the
Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Emo Genre Argument
Ok, this is my first edit really, so go easy on me :D, but I don't understand why people keep getting rid or pushing aside the EMO title that belongs to this album. It really is an Emo album weither people think emo is a bias or not. Someone doesn't seem to understand that Emo is a REAL GENRE, not a label that gets stuck to certain bands. The band even submited material to an EMO Collection CD (The Emo Diaries Chapter One is opened with Jimmy Eat World's appropriatly named song - "Opener") Obviously they concented to putting their material inside the collection as it appears in it in the first place. Also, it isn't an Alternative Rock album at all, but I left the title to please people who would disagree with it at all. —Preceding

Actually, an old version of the band's Web site clarified that when the band submitted the song "Opener" for that compilation, the album didn't have a title yet, so they don't "consent" to having their music labeled as such--in fact, they hate the term emo so much that they've often listed that compilation as "The *** Diaries" on their site discographies. :P

Infobox and lead
The single is not mentioned as being released in 1996 like the infobox claims; write this out in the body
"to
Capitol Records in mid-1995." → "to Capitol in mid-1995 for further releases."
"could hear. The band mentioned" → "could hear, with the band responding by mentioning"
"a staff member at Capitol Records" → "a staff member at Capitol"
"had known since the seventh grade, replaced him." → "had been best friends with since the seventh grade, replaced Porter." since the source mentions that specifically
Production
Retitle to Recording and production
"to record their forthcoming album," → "to record 'Static Prevails,"
"at Big Fish, in Encinitas, California." → "at Big Fish in
Encinitas, California." with the wikilink
"who had previously produced" → "who had previously produced for"
"Jimmy Eat World were" → "the band were"
Add a source at the end of the sentence to confirm the band as producers because [7] does not directly mention this
""Seventeen" it initially featured the chorus lyric "You're only seventeen"," → ""Seventeen", it initially featured the
chorus line "You're only seventeen";" with the target
"mixed almost all the tracks, except" → "
mixed all of the tracks, apart from" with the target
"with assistant engineer Cappy Japngie." → "with Cappy Japngie serving as an assistant engineer."
"Captiol insisted Rothrock and Schnapf mix these tracks" → "Captiol Records insisted on Rothrock and Schnapf mixing the tracks"
"to send the songs" → "to send them"
"mastered the recordings at Precision Mastering" → "
mastered all of the recordings at Precision Mastering, while" with the target
"on their split" → "following Jimmy Eat World's split" but are you sure this shouldn't be in the following section?
The early version of "Digits" is from the split mentioned in the Background section; I just put it here as something to say about the song.

"The closing track "Anderson Mesa" features" → "The closing track, "Anderson Mesa", features"
Should it be "featured" and "included", or is the vinyl version still available?
This particular version (with the different artwork) isn't available anymore; later versions used the CD artwork (the one in the infobox).
