One report says Fr Stan hails from Kerala while the other says he is from Trichy in Tamil Nadu. Since the latter is mentioned by the Ranchi Catholic Church we can take it to be authentic.

The word 'draconian' has been used to describe the UAPA provisions because the ability to get bail is limited on very narrow grounds. Most secondary sources have used this term. Please discuss here before arbitrarily removing the word.

The term 'draconian' used to describe UAPA has been removed as per the BLP policy for living persons, because no credible citation has been given and reflects only the personal opinions of the author(s). The cited article at the end of that sentence has no mention of the word 'draconian' and has not made such suggestions. If one wishes to include this word, it must be corroborated with a credible citation and the sentence could be phrased as "He has been arrested according to UAPA, which is considered 'draconian' by some observers".

Fereydoonshah please let the discussion reach a consensus before reverting the edits. The word draconian comes from the name Draco, a guy who created harsh laws. The UAPA is a harsh law for the context it was created and even the Govt admits that position while denying bail. What is the argument for claiming it is not draconian or that it is not harsh?
Vikram Vincent05:33, 19 November 2020 (UTC)reply
Fereydoonshah it slipped me before... BLP is for the person not UAPA. The term draconian is used to describe UAPA not Stan Swamy. I could not understand what you were trying to convey with the BLP statement.

Vincentvikram: Hi there, I don't speak for Fereydoonshah, but from my perspective, the word "draconian" presents a value judgment, i.e. an opinion, that the laws are harsh. We do not typically present opinions as though they are facts, especially not in a
neutral encyclopedia. Something along the lines of "...a set of laws that legal scholars including Scholar 1, Scholar 2 and Scholar 3 have described as draconian"[15][16][17] might be more suitable. (See also
WP:WEASEL.) But saying it off-handedly as though it were a fact is not the way to go. No, it has nothing to do with BLP. (Note also, that when content you add is reverted, the status quo should remain until you achieve consensus for inclusion. Not the other way around.) Regards,

No, though by covering his body with the red vestament(chasuble) during the funeral the Jesuits have acknowledge that he was a martyr.

Vincentvikram: The WP India template does not need a separate parameter to list its own importance; that's just recursion. Have added WP Tamil Nadu since it is listed as his birthplace; this does NOT imply that the subject of the article does not have national importance.

My contention was that he was not really relevant to TN though he was born there. Jharkhand would have been a better parameter. So adding TN is sort of redundant.
