I was surprised to see my photo at the head of this article, having thought of this inland line as distinct from the one along the Harlem River, the two being built at a different times by different men for different purposes. Apparently editors who have studied more carefully have come to another conclusion. I would be pleased if someone could dig up more details, particularly maps of different stages of development.
