CycoMa: the immediate problem was that
carpetweed is a disambiguation page. I've personally never heard this English name applied to Caryophyllaceae. I associate it with members of
Aizoaceae, like Sesuvium edmonstonei, Galapagos carpetweed, which covers some of the small islands. Are there other sources that use this English name for the family? I tried a random selection of links in the taxonbar at
Caryophyllaceae, but didn't find one. "Pink family" is relatvely common.

When I looked carpetweeds I found this family called
Molluginaceae. According to the article it states. The APG III system of 2009 made no change in the status of the family as compared to the APG II system of 2003 and the APG system of 1998, apart from a reassignment of several genera, such as the placement of Corrigiola and Telephium into Caryophyllaceae, Corbichonia in Lophiocarpaceae, Microtea into Microteaceae and Limeum in Limeaceae, because the family was found to be widely polyphyletic in Caryophyllales.
