Relating to edits regarding violations of the BLP policy

Why is it that this page has been semi-protected and previous edits removed under BLP policy violation? There has been reporting on the allegations and Purdue itself have placed the professor on leave according to that source. ComputerLem ( talk) 16:12, 2 February 2023 (UTC) reply

Because Wikipedia policy is that, apart from a few specific circumstances, we don't report allegations of criminality which have not been tested in court. On this occasion I believe (though I am open to correction) that the person in question has not even been charged, let alone tried. JBW ( talk) 16:32, 2 February 2023 (UTC) reply
@JBW I see. Thank you for the explanation! ComputerLem ( talk) 16:34, 2 February 2023 (UTC) reply

In response to the stated need for 2 citations in Career section, here are the two references citing the original source (AIAA). https://aerospaceamerica.aiaa.org/bulletin/february-2022-aiaa-bulletin/ https://www.aiaa.org/news/news/2022/06/03/aiaa-to-present-technical-excellence-awards-at-the-2022-aiaa-aviation-forum SciPhysEng ( talk) 19:04, 2 March 2024 (UTC) reply
