I think this article should be merged with the Multiple vortex tornado article, because a satellite tornado is very similar to a multiple vortex tornado.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.218.248.190 ( talkcontribs) Mar 15, 2008

It's true that they are similar, but not similar enough to be merged. The Video Game Master ( talk) 02:01, 16 March 2008 (UTC) reply
Agree, don't merge. WxGopher ( talk) 04:41, 28 May 2008 (UTC) reply

Rolling Fork

I'm wondering whether the Rolling Fork tornado truly did have a satellite tornado or not, and if it should still be included on the table. I haven't seen any NWS sources indicating that there truly was a satellite, didn't find a track on DAT, and a storm chaser photo from Twitter/X does not confirm whether it was one or not, since a sub-vortex of the tornado could've been mistaken for a satellite, especially based on the nature of the tornado at the time the image was taken. Are there any other sources indicating that there was a satellite? If not, then I believe it should be removed due to a lack of reliable sources confirming one. Pinging @ WeatherWriter: since you added the tornado in the article. Thanks, ChrisWx 🌀 ( talk - contribs) 02:42, 26 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Agreed with above—I think social media has to be off the table as a reliable source for this kind of thing. Penitentes ( talk) 02:48, 26 January 2024 (UTC) reply
Noting that I have removed the Rolling Fork entry until and unless a reliable source can be found. Penitentes ( talk) 16:42, 30 January 2024 (UTC) reply
