The overview says 16000 vehicles pass through the tunnel daily, or about 1 every 10 seconds, 24 hours a day. Having just been through the tunnel, this seems rather high. I would suggest more like 16000 per month!

Second photo
The cutline for the second photo identifies it as the "Salang Tunnel entrance, 1975". It appears to be the entrance to the
snow shed/gallery, with the actual tunnel portal at the far right margin.
