The current title falsely implicates SNC-Lavalin as a guilty party when, in fact, no charges have ever been brought against the Company, nor has anyone ever been arraigned. Mark 564 ( talk) 14:32, 21 June 2010 (UTC) reply

  • Oppose By far the scandal is popularly known as "SNC Lavalin scandal". Never even Heard of "Kerala Hydro scandal". When i googled it, it returned no results other than this page. The matter that SNC Co. was not not legally implicated doesn't mean the name should be changed in here. It's just the "name" of the scandal. Arjun codename024 08:10, 4 July 2010 (UTC) reply
Just because another name is also used doesn't mean we should cook-up a "general" name. We ought to use the common name. Arjun codename024 04:14, 6 July 2010 (UTC) reply
Like i've mention they're more than one common name for this and I prefer the proposed one that reflect more the fact, it's my opinion Galla777 ( talk) 21:35, 6 July 2010 (UTC) reply
All the common names have "lavalin" name in it, the most common one being the present title. moreover, "Kerala Hydro scandal" is a name never ever heard of.

WP:QC Assessment

This article is off to a good start, but SNC-Lavalin has been involved in many scandals lately, [5] not just affecting India. I think if the issue of moving it were still valid, I would vote to move it.

Issues needing to be addressed are also written on the front page: it's too technical, written like a report, and needs to be cleaned up. If it is to encompass other scandals, it also requires coverage with reliable sources from Western medias about things like the Charbonneau commission. Until this gets answered, I will leave its importance to Wikipedia:WikiProject Quebec unassessed. - Sweet Nightmares 19:37, 17 July 2014 (UTC) reply

See the following articles for some examples:
  1. SNC-Lavalin bridge contract linked to $1.5M in suspected kickbacks
  2. Former SNC-Lavalin CEO arrested on fraud charges
  3. SNC-Lavalin International used secret code for 'bribery' payments
As the article stands now, its only relation to WP:QC is that the perpetrator happens to be based in Quebec, Canada. Is it, then, truly under the scope of the project? - Sweet Nightmares 17:48, 1 August 2014 (UTC) reply

SNC Lavalin scandalSNC-Lavalin Kerala hydroelectric dam scandal – Since the last time this article was listed for a name change, quite a few news stories have broken about various scandals around the globe relating to this company. This is, unfortunately, no longer the definitive SNC-Lavalin scandal. See SNC-Lavalin#Controversies for some examples. - Sweet Nightmares 19:00, 1 August 2014 (UTC) reply

Discussion

Any additional comments:
The dash is imperative. It is used at SNC-Lavalin, their official website, and elsewhere. Anyhow, what about SNC-Lavalin Kerala hydroelectric scandal, or perhaps SNC-Lavalin hydroelectric scandal? - Sweet Nightmares 22:18, 3 August 2014 (UTC) reply
SNC-Lavalin Kerala hydroelectric scandal is fine by me; "hydroelectric scandal" is too imprecise, there being many hydroelectric projects that SNC is involved with. -- 65.94.169.222 ( talk) 09:00, 7 August 2014 (UTC) reply
