I don't know why someone went and deleted 'Devil's Rejects' from her filmography since she did appear in it. I restored it.-- CyberGhostface 01:37, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Men in Black II made a profit but was considered a disappointment based on expectations. Men in Black made a profit of $499,000,000 ($90,000,000 budget and $589,000,000 grosses, 28 weeks in theatrical release); Men in Black II made a profit of "only" $252,000,000 ($190,000,000 budget and $442,000,000 grosses). MiBII earned most of its money (approx 27.4%) in the first weekend and then dropped fast (it was in theatres only 9 weeks in comparison to the original's 28 week run). MK 23:26, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
A fair question. I'll admit a quarter billion sounds good to me as well. But movie studios deal in billions routinely.
Look at the following table on big films released in 2002:
Title | Budget | Grosses | Profit | Return |
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers | 139,000,000 | 926,000,000 | 787,000,000 | 5.66 |
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets | 150,000,000 | 877,000,000 | 727,000,000 | 4.85 |
Spider-Man | 189,000,000 | 822,000,000 | 633,000,000 | 3.35 |
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones | 140,000,000 | 649,000,000 | 509,000,000 | 3.64 |
Men in Black II | 190,000,000 | 442,000,000 | 252,000,000 | 1.33 |
Signs | 112,000,000 | 408,000,000 | 296,000,000 | 2.64 |
Ice Age | 94,000,000 | 383,000,000 | 289,000,000 | 3.07 |
My Big Fat Greek Wedding | 24,000,000 | 369,000,000 | 345,000,000 | 14.38 |
Catch Me If You Can | 87,000,000 | 351,000,000 | 264,000,000 | 3.03 |
Chicago | 75,000,000 | 307,000,000 | 232,000,000 | 3.09 |
Austin Powers in Goldmember | 113,000,000 | 297,000,000 | 184,000,000 | 1.63 |
MiBII did good in basic terms, getting the fifth highest grosses in the group. But in terms of profit, they fell to ninth place. And the really important figure is the return on investment - how much profit was made for each dollar invested in the production. As you can see MiBII is at the bottom (and was lower than several other movies I didn't list). If you were a studio investor you'd have been a lot happier getting fourteen dollars back for each dollar you invested in My Big Fat Greek Wedding even though its grosses were lower. The last sentence of the section 'Personal Life', it says "Recently, it was reported that they have separated," but this sentence isn't sourced? Can somebody source this comment please? If not, then it should probably be removed. Though my belief is that the entire section needs a bit of work, that last comment should have some kind of source. 69.107.46.34 08:35, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
IMDb says that they broke up in November 9 in 2006. ( Trampton 03:18, 2 March 2007 (UTC)).
I think there should be a new picture of her, the current one does not really look like her-- Migospia 02:38, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
I am aware of that, that is why I am asking if any one has any ideas this pic of her is horrible, not sure how real it is-- Migospia 09:39, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
That picture looks really manly.
Please, dear god... someone change the picture!
I believe that the public would love to be able to purchase a CD with songs by or song by Rosario Dawson. I would hope that this is coming in the NEAR future. It seems a little point of view for a comment to be made stating Dawson's performance are often praised when they are freqeuntly also panned. She has seemed to have a hit-or-miss relationship with critics, so I am altering the language to reflect that. Pacian 06:17, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
Is it just me or phrasing her involvement in movies that didn't perform well as being a "failure" seem a little POV? -- AgnosticPreachersKid ( talk) 16:16, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Curious why important trivia and a link to a site of hers was removed?
When it fits under:
What should be linked
Under Trivia:
She was in the The Chemical Brothers video "Out of Control"
I think both should be included I was surprised that it wasn't -- Migospia 00:52, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Still why can't the trivia still be in there without linking to the video?-- Migospia 01:34, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Um what do you mean there are a lot of articles that have trivia on tem on wikipedia it is not something I like made up out of thin are to be put on there you know?--

But Wikipedia mentions that trivia sections should not be included in articles (even though lots of articles have them.) Wikipedia rightly states that almost everything you can put in a trivia section can be melded with the main part of the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.25.146.99 ( talk) 20:56, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
No mention of her first movie, "Kids" except in the filmography. I'd think there should be some story ir info to it... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.41.157.137 ( talk) 05:20, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Dawson's father, Greg Dawson, is of Irish and Native American ancestry - but he is not Dawson's biological father. She does refer to him simply as her "father" in interviews, though in an other interview ( here) she went into the whole detailed story. I am not sure what her biological father's background is, but in this Boston Globe interview, in 2005, she makes it clear that it's Greg Dawson who is Irish/Native: "My dad is a tall white guy - he's native Indian, Irish and British - and my mom is a Puerto Rican and Afro-Cuban, and people who didn't want to recognize an interracial relationship would come up as if my dad was not there and say, `What's up?' to my mother..." All Hallow's Wraith ( talk) 01:44, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
It states that she says in an article that she lost her virginity to Jay-Z, but there is no reference for this. It is also a little confusing as it states that she dated him in the early 2000's when she would have been in her early 20's, but she had been married at age 18. So, did she meet Jay-Z prior to getting married, and when exactly did she and her husband separate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.238.244.254 ( talk) 11:57, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Re Dawson coming out, I'm assuming 2600:1003:b012:c0c8:4009:2513:444:93f6 meant this link:
The sourcing meets BLP standards since it's Dawson's verified instagram account, so if there's debate over whether or not we know enough to include it, it's in whether or not the source is clear enough. – Roscelese ( talk ⋅ contribs) 15:26, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
Why does this Wiki article state that she supported Jill Stein for president in 2016, when she says she didn't? https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2019/10/rosario-dawson-cory-booker — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.8.171.248 ( talk) 18:38, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
@ Binksternet: In this edit you deleted a number of sentences regarding the lawsuit. At present, that lawsuit comes up fairly prominently when you Google her. I do understand that this may be more like "breaking news", and that in the future that lawsuit may have little significance, and that this is a WP:BLP. I also felt that some of the material deleted may be biased more towards the plaintiff. However, I feel we should have a little more material that summarizes what is found in the WP:RS, so that readers don't have to go to the media to read up on the details. The sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh has a very lengthy section which developed very quickly to the size it is now only a couple of weeks after the accusations surfaced on 9/16/2018 (See 9/25/2018 version), yet he was never actually found guilty or even charged with a crime to my knowledge. I think the justification then for such length was the amount of coverage of it. So that same argument should apply to this article. -- David Tornheim ( talk) 00:34, 31 October 2019 (UTC)

− Hello fellow Wikipedians, + Standard biographies always include education of the subject. This does not. Presumably she went to school, up to some level. Her education should be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.22.76.12 ( talk • contribs) —Preceding undated comment added 20:38, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
I made an edit to restore the controversy section on this page. User:YouCanDoBetter stated "Does not seem to be right to include dropped accusations, I forget the Wikipedia policy but I don't think this is supposed to be here." I disagree with this, WP:PUBLICFIGURE states that noteworthy allegations should be included, even when negative. The section is well-sourced and includes details that the case was dropped, therefore lessening any bias against Dawson. 11times ( talk) 22:03, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
