I'm surprised there wasn't already an article on him. Does he have an official site? -- Ragemanchoo ( talk) 07:09, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
At least up to the mid 1970's the wind tunnel at the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment used Merlin engines to drive the fans. It was an interesting experience to walk past the dozens of engines which they had in reserve. Chrisj1948 ( talk) 08:30, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
There is no mention of the RR engines in MTBs, see Hubert Scott-Paine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.122.34.10 ( talk) 15:35, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
I've recently come across references to two Merlin-powered Rolls-Royces; a Phantom II and a Phantom III (the latter apparently owned by Jay Leno). My understanding of the history of the former is that the project was started by Stephen Langton and, after Langton's death, sold on to Nick Harley (the chap who paid five million GBP for the Kellner Bugatti Royale) around 1988. Whether it was completed under Harley's auspices is unclear from the information on teh Intarwebs, but it ended up in the USA and was sold in 2007 for over 400,000 USD. I've not found anything else about the PIII so far, but will have a root around and see if anything turns up. Mr Larrington ( talk) 15:12, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
