Lakoff's work is very well known outside the US, and coming from a fairly robust non-US perspective, I don't see the slant. -- Limegreen 08:36, 22 March 2007 (UTC) reply

George Lakoff?

I'm assuming she is somehow connected to UC Berkeley linguistics professor George Lakoff. Married? Related? It'd be useful if this information could be added. — Emiellaiendiay 03:12, 17 April 2007 (UTC) reply

There is some suggestion that they were married a long time ago (e.g., [1]), but I don't know of a reliable source. It's rather like tracking down the exact relationship between Simon Baron-Cohen (Cambridge Professor) and Sacha Baron-Cohen (a.k.a. Ali G, Borat).-- Limegreen 04:01, 17 April 2007 (UTC) reply

Stumbled over “proposes that women's speech can be distinguished”

Did Lakoff (empirically) find that women's speech is different from men's speech? If so these findings cannot be "proposed". 13:29, 1 March 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.94.171.54 ( talk)
