He stalked the preteen peace activist? That just doesn't make sense... her page doesn't say anything about it, either, that I can see. Anyone?

Just wondering about the line "prohibits state Departments of Motor Vehicles from disclosing the home addresses of state residents to stalkers. Is the "to stalkers" really needed here? Just reads a little odd.

I checked his current prison location via the in the article itself linked [1], but I got no hit for Robert John Bardo, but the search for just Bardo gave a hit for a 43 year old Robert Allen Bardo, imprisoned in Ironwood. Is this just an unlike coincidence, or did he change his middle name?

I can't say for sure, but you're right, the ONLY John Bardo, with any middle name is currently incarcerated at Ironwood State Prison in Blyth, CA and is registered under the CDCR# H21272. His listed age as of this date is 46 and that matches the subject of this article. His admission date to the State Prison System is listed as 01/15/1992. That also makes sense since in Los Angeles, after sentencing, a prisoner has to go through psychiatric evaluation in County Jail, where they would have resided while awaiting the finish of their trial and their sentencing. After Evaluation, there is often a brief wait while the transfer is arranged and the paperwork goes through. He was convicted in October 1991. The article does NOT mention his sentencing date so it may have been on the same day or shortly thereafter since he was admitted to the State Prison system in January 1992. The only way to be sure of a name change is to ask his current legal representation why there is a difference between the name he was charged under and the name he is now serving under. They could perhaps direct you to a name change filing or explain a potential mix up. Middle name mix ups happen. Whatever name under which you were arrested and booked is the name you get tried under. If an error is found or the defendant files a motion to have their name corrected, the change will be made. Some people have two middle names and some people also use their confirmation name (Catholics) as an added legal middle name. I happen to do so. Bottom line - there's no simple way to find out other than writing to him or his legal rep. it would be difficult to search through all name changes in CA, even though his name is unusual and famous. You could Goggle NEWS items about a name change since notorious defendants sometimes generate news articles when filing such things. I'll try and find out on my end, but I don't want to write to him!
