The entire History section appears to have been lifted from http://www.educationcentral.org/lee/history.html . Someone needs to rewrite it. / blahedo ( t) 22:43, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi Generals! I've been working on the article, and I hope you like the results. More precise dating will require good old-fashioned documentary research. (Online sources have their limits.) Anyway, this is a work in progress. Our article is more substantial now --and getting better all the time! Nicajelejunsutuc ( talk) 20:14, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Jackson High did not start out mostly Black. It was a white school in the 1950s (there was no 'mostly' this or that back then). -- Donald Albury 23:49, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
jackson has always been a black school. it was Lee who started out white. if your from jacksonville you would know this.
I reorganized the article for clarity and timeline's sake, but these statements are slightly irking me: "The controversy between the two high schools is one of the reasons the "westside/eastside beef" was created. Lee is also known for their rapid change, athletics and having the number one drumline in Duval County." I have no idea what the "westside/eastside beef" refers to between the two schools, nor do I know what is meant by "rapid change." Perhaps if someone could elaborate on both issues, it would make more sense to those of us who are unfamiliar with this subject. Maria 13:26, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Riverside High School (Florida)/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
I'm changing this article rating to Start. It contains relevant subheadings that can be further expanded to flesh out this article more. Subwayatrain ( talk) 05:43, 26 November 2007 (UTC) |

The article in The Root seems to be opinion but it links to other sources https://www.theroot.com/jesus-never-condemned-slavery-florida-board-to-rename-1846567205 WhisperToMe ( talk) 18:02, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
To claim the “notable alumni” came from Riverside High School is a false statement. Everyone mentioned was a “Notable Alumni” for R.E.Lee Sr. H.S., not Riverside H.S. and to say otherwise is false. Since the name was so controversial and had to be changed then the do not have the right to claim those who graduated and/or are Notable Alumni from R.E.Lee and should be noted as such. Since the name change there has yet to be a “Notable Alumni” graduate from said school. 2601:341:C180:24D0:0:0:0:F35B ( talk) 21:20, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
This was an erroneous change as alumni from what was once Robert E. Lee HS are now alumni of what is now known as Riverside HS. Thank you RiverAlum ( talk) 06:38, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
