OK, this history of this station is pretty messed up in historical sources from what I can tell. The "best" source for the early history of SP's LA stations is probably in Historical Outline of the Southern Pacific Company, published by the Southern Pacific Bureau of News in 1933. This, however, is pretty obscure and not something to which I have access. It will be in the public domain in just a few years, so I hope someone at some time gets access to it and we can figure out what's going on here. -
