Both of these again just passively mention the engine being used in the mobile ports, which isn't ideal for establishing independent notability. Are there any more that only talk about the engine, such as the toucharcade.com one? ~

Coming back to this, have you found anything? Right now the only real source is the toucharcade.com one, the rest really shouldn't count towards its notability. ~

Unfortunately no, mostly just game review mentions and interviews is what came up. I wouldn't oppose merging to the main
Christian Whitehead article, actually (even though I created this page). If we combine this with some info about his life and career, we could actually make Whitehead's page a good-looking article. ~

I'd support this resolution as well. JoeBro would be a better candidate to do the actual merge though, since these subjects seem to really be his passion.

Sonic Mania Plus
Since this continues to be added to the list, I think this should be discussed before it is again. Arguments for it would be that it being a standalone, physical release (for consoles) gives it more weight than just some special digital edition like it is on Steam. However, counter-arguments would be that we usually don't add these sort of enhanced/DLC games to other engine pages. I'm fine with either as long we are all on the same page, but I slightly prefer omitting it. ~

Yeah, I don't think it should be added. If the main game uses the engine, what's the point of adding DLC? It's redundant.

Star Engine
I don't think the entire article should be moved or changed yet to reflect a renaming for which no games use yet. Also, the whole new studio thing could use a better source than just the official website and Twitter, but that's only preferable and not required. ~

But shouldn't the name change be reflected in the lead? I think it's misleading to just keep treating the original name as the current name like that. I mean, I agree we shouldn't move yet since "Retro Engine" is still the common name, but what's the problem with mentioning it in the lead?
JOEBRO6412:23, 8 March 2019 (UTC)reply
I'm kinda with Dissident on this. It seems that Star Engine is more like a new engine being built from the Retro Engine as a basis, rather than a re-branding of the Retro Engine. At least the wording on the
official page gives me that feeling.
TarkusABtalk12:57, 8 March 2019 (UTC)reply
It should be mentioned for sure, but replacing every other mention of Retro Engine with Star Engine, when that's 99% of the article's scope, just seems odd to me. Not to mention it could be an offshoot of it anyway, per Tarkus. ~

Christan Whitehead quotes from his Twitter account
I have seen it many times here in the view history of this page that someone will try to add newly discovered retro engine information and try to use Christan Whitehead's Twitter account as a source, as it's not usually covered elsewhere. Every single time this happens someone comes in and manually edits out this new info along with butchering already existing parts of the page, saying "Twitter is not a source". We know for a fact
this is his legitimate account, so I don't see how something Christan states himself on the internet becomes fake/illegitimate info just because of the platform he is using. Can someone please elaborate on why this isn't allowed? Does it specifically say somewhere in the wikipedia rules "grrr twitter is a bad unprofessional site we must blacklist and prevent any citations using it"???
