Article incorrectly claims Rennell and Bellona are the only Polynesian islands in the Solomons. What about Ontong Java? There are also Nukumanu, Temotu, Mortlocks (now in PNG, formerly BSIP) and what's left of the Polynesian community on Nuguria (PNG); nor is this list complete. Richard Parkinson (c1880s) identified all local Polynesian groups as having originated from Samoa, by the highly recessive Ila birthmark. The Carteret Ilands (Kilinalau) were also Polynesian when first discovered, but Melanesian when Morel visited. Isolated or sand/coral atolls are much more likely to be colonized by Polynesians due to their superior seamanship and fishing skills, compared to Melanesians. Tolais are found on the Nuguria group for the simple reason that they had been taken there by Australian planters, after WWI.

The "native name" on the map is different from the "local name" in the text. Also, the islands are referred to as "Renbel" without this contraction being explained, or its level of officialness mentioned. -- ColinFine ( talk) 22:44, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Please fix coordinates of the village Hatagua. I checked bing/google maps, but on this position i cannot find a village or a house. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.242.81.209 ( talk) 09:23, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

A major oil spill/ecological disaster is underway at this location, following the grounding of a large ship and resulting cracking of its hull. Where would be the best place to include a reference to this in the current article https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/mar/06/solomon-islanders-suffer-worst-oil-spill-nations-history-bulk-carrier-bauxite?CMP=soc_567&fbclid=IwAR1z6UeFbSvFn1uvgt72zm01D7V1pa3tC3sGUNGtX5q3TtvwoqAVl0i1vbk -- Danimations ( talk) 02:16, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
