Can you please add the fact that it is currently ranked as the top club by the UEFA coefficients and also by the IFFHS? The source is: http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/club/
The articles on FC Barcelona boasts about the trophies and is filled with arrogance while this articles misses out on many of the achievements in the main (introduction) bit. Can you editors of this page not add the vital statistics (trophies, wins, general superiority) like the Barcelona article features? Why can this article not boast in the introduction section that Madrid was bestowed the title of the best club of the 20th century, while FC Barcelona has a line saying that they were once ranked as the top club in IFFHS in 2009? This is absurd. Madrid were ranked top several times too? This is clear bias. Or maybe the page editors are FC Barcelona fans? I thought Wikipedia was objective but it seems now.

The editors of this page are a disgrace to Real Madrid Football Club. These editors are nerds who know nothing about football. Look at the Barcelona page. And compare it to this? There are so many important things missing in the introduction, such as how its was bestowed the honour of the best club of the 20th Century and is currently the top club in UEFA rankings?
Makes me think this is a page edited by Barcelona fans.
I have reported this page to the Real Madrid press office for official editing, seeing as how the editors on this page are incompetent useless loser nerds. 91.125.210.42 ( talk) 05:18, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

I can't see how the Article's brief description of the 11-1 Madrid victory over Barcelona could be considered neutral as the fact that despite winning 11-1 Madrid went on to lose the final of said Copa del Generalissimo to Athletic Bilbao is completely omitted. Further, the article's lack of other key details may induce the average reader to infer that the Regime actively interfered in favor of Real Madrid, even when it is a well known fact Madrid were not successful those early years of Franco's regime, whereas Barcelona, who became the most successful team in Spain by 1953, were. Incidentally, 1953 was the year Di Stefano arrived and led Madrid to their first league title in 21 years, that in itself being 10 years after that 11-1 defeat of Barcelona in the Copa del Generalissimo that Madrid eventually lost.
I propose the language reads more like: "one of the most memorable moments of Real Madrid's early years was their 11-1 victory over Barcelona in the semi-final leg of La Copa del Rey/Generalissimo. Although some suggest Barcelona were intimidated by police and attribute the regime of direct interference, Madrid went on to lose the final against Athletic Bilbao." Something akin to that is far more neutral, and states direct fact.
I'd remove the mention of Madrid fans assaulting a Barcelona Chairman entirely as the article is about Real Madrid's history, not what a specific group of fans may or may not have done to someone at a given moment. Further, including that together with the regime interference claim, could only lead some to infer that Madrid fans were fascists, when the truth is far more complex. The bottom line is that if claims or suggestions of regime interference are going to be referenced, even if its brief, omitting to mention other key facts like the fact Franco imprisoned one Real Madrid President and executed another, doesn't help in painting a clear picture for the average reader. The regime interference claim carries political connotations and tends to simplify what is a complex issue. Just my two cents. Fcrisis ( talk) 17:46, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
I agree with you somewhat, so while I have not removed the fact that Madrid fans assaulted the Barca coach, I have researched the topic further and added new references in order to portray a more complete picture of the incidents surrounding the game. Other pages (that talk about this incident) are now uniform and don't have contradicting information. Thank you for bringing this to attention. Imperial HRH2 ( talk) 18:10, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Anyone think this is better than it currently stands?
Real Madrid established itself as a major force in both Spanish and European football during the 1950s. Domestically, the club has won a record 32 La Liga titles, 19 Copa del Rey, 9 Supercopa de España, 1 Copa Eva Duarte and 1 Copa de la Liga. Internationally the club has won a record 10 European Cup/UEFA Champions League titles and a joint record 3 Intercontinental Cups, as well as 2 UEFA Cups, 2 UEFA Super Cups and a FIFA Club World Cup.
I don't really have an issue with how it stands, but, the term "joint most successful" is ambiguous and open to interpretation (its also ever changing wirh each trophy won). This one is definitive...won a record 32 titles domestically, won a record 10 CL internationally. Clearly Real leads both domestically and internationally. I was going to do similar with Barca and remove their "joint" claim...as again it's vague. When statistics are involved we can be more clear. As a Liverpool fan, similar was done to the page today..."one of the most successful",...again, vague. Now it's, record number of Europeam Cups for an English club, and United its record number of Leagues. When it's cut and dried "most successful" then it works fine, but when it's close it gets very iffy. Carlos Rojas77 ( talk) 19:51, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

I think that the content in the Hala Madrid article can easily be explained in the context of popular culture, and the Real Madrid C.F. article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Hala Madrid will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. I've stated the two reasons why Mourinho doesn't belong there. Del Bosque is not mentioned, Heynckes is not mentioned..recent coaches who won more than Mourinho at Madrid and are far more significant in the club's history. Another editor correctly removed Mourinho from the sub heading previously as he is not significant enough to warrant it...it's WP:undue weight (excessive focus on an individual). The Madrid article is ranked good, to maintain this (or better) we must follow guidelines. Carlos Rojas77 ( talk) 13:47, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

There is an inappropriate use of the word "quinta" in the text:
"The other four members were Manuel Sanchís, Martín Vázquez, Míchel and Miguel Pardeza; all five footballers were graduates of Real Madrid's youth academy.[36] With La Quinta del Buitre (reduced to four members when Pardeza left for Zaragoza in 1986) and" (...)
The Spanish word "quinta" refers to a certain generation of players, but not the number of them. In the text it used to count the numbers of players belonging to that generation - however, 'La Quinta del Buitre' as it says subsequently in the text was formed by a larger number of players than just five.
Apart from being incorrect, I believe the text unfairly highlights some players from that generation against others.

This article is a clare case of WP:Recentism.
The section of history is quite deficient, not to say directly incorrect. You can not give more space in the text to a stage of 2 years of a single coach than to the entire decade of the 70's, or to the whole decade of the 80's with the 5 consecutive leagues, or to the decade of the 90's with the return in 98 to the European triumphs etc. Apart from that it would be necessary to make a section much more extensive of the 50's and 60's, the 40's after the Civil War is interesant when the club was near to descend. The seasons from 1955 to 1960 have to be named, like 1962, 1964 and of course the season of 1966.
Space must be proportional, it should be summarize more the present and at least name and explain happenings of the twentieth century.
If the article is protected I can create an account and start to compose and improve the sections.-- 95.22.121.52 ( talk) 03:35, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
I did a bit of a re-org of the more recent sections (combined the Ancelotti-Zidane 'eras'), because although they seem distinct, the core group of players have been essentially the same, and it's been just 4 years. There still seems to be some excessive detail in the contents of the section that probably could be pruned out (for e.g. how many goals C. Ronaldo scored in certain games; just seems like trivia to me). It's a bit hard to get rid of a lot of the detail in the contents because there have been several notable achievements and records in the past few years and everything seems relevant but it is disproportionately larger than several of the previous decades and seems too bottom heavy. Anakimi ( talk) 18:13, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
Should I make the formations on the pitch for the teams that were fielded in the 7 European Cup triumphs? It might seem like their importance is downplayed otherwise. If people think it's unnecessary however, I won't do it. Anakimi ( talk) 05:00, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
