I'm editing someone else's post because I don't know how to make my own, so sorry. I think the Ranger class in MapleStory should be mentioned, as MapleStory's wiki has gotten large.
I agree with this, but I also believe that the Ranger class from
FlyFF should be incorporated as well. I'll get around to this if nobody else does.

Tolkein's use of the Ranger in his Middle Earth novels should be mentioned.
There is considerable overlap between the ranger and archer archetypes, however IMO they are distinct enought to warrent separate articles. --

I feel as far as a fantasy universe goes, an Archer is a ranger just lacking some nature attunement. Hunter=Ranger in my book (Albeit hunters usually have pets). In most of these games it would appear archer is a stepping stone in to being a ranger, or the archer is the same as a ranger (if there is an archer).
