Are nominations open to people outside the United Kingdom? How does the nomination precess work? If nominations are possible for persons outside of the United Kingdom, I would like to nominate Philip Unitt for his lifetime ornithological work, specifically for his creation of the San Diego County Bird Atlas, a 5-year period collecting detailed regional data and one year of compilation and showing the relevance for city planning and area conservation efforts.
