Incidence

Large percentages of those who commit suicide in prison do so after having recently received mental health services. [1] The suicide rate in U.S. federal prisons is lower than the average suicide rate among the general population. [2]

This material seems to hint at something without really substantiating it. Do mental health services increase suicide? Are prisoners simply less "suicidal" than the general population?
