I think the words "of Rome" at the end of the first sentence only add confusion. They should be deleted.-- Srleffler 06:57, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Many in this communion are evangelical and low church would not consider themselves "Catholic" in any sense, therefore I have changed the wording slighty. Starzaz ( talk) 19:46, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Good change Starzaz. The map indicates that the Scottish Episcopal Church is Lutheran (red type) when, in reality, it is part of the Anglican Communion and should be in blue type. Can this be fixed by someone who knows how? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Albanman ( talk • contribs) 17:06, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
The Porvoo Communion is not protestant by ordinary terminology. Firstly the word "protestant" isn't mentioned in the common declaration. Secondly neither hardcore Lutherans nor high-church anglican minded persons in f.ex. the Swedish church don't like "protestant" since it is just a side in a dead conflict, and that both those groups generally consider themselves more related to Roman Catholicism than to Calvinism. Some also to greek orthodoxy (f.ex. me). There is nothing anti-Rome in the Porvoo union, so "protestantism" is a misnomer. Said: Rursus ( ☻) 14:44, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
It is stated that the communion was named after Porvoo to make pronounciation easier. To me this sounds one of those funny myths. Is there a reliable source, or could it have been that the mass was celebrated in Porvoo because Järvenpää doesn't have a cathedral? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.221.59.27 ( talk) 13:46, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
The article states that Lutheran churches without apostolic episcopal orders cannot take part in the Porvoo Communion. But what about Denmark? has the Danish church agreed to regain apostolicity as a price of signing up? And what about Norway? I thought the Norwegians did not have apostolic orders either?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.84.67 ( talk) 01:25, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
