Throughout the film the delivery of the script to the studio is a key part of the plot. The storyline involves two leading Star Trek characters, Captain Kirk and his first officer and best friend Mr. Spock. Spock is half-human and half-Vulcan, a unique alien character. As Wendy writes about Kirk and Spock struggling to survive on a desolate planet, the dialogue between them reflects their relationship as Star Trek fans will recognize. While they have divergent personalities, their friendship is more important than their Star Fleet roles and even their own life.
