I must say: this is one of the most interesting birds I know. My mother has a house near Duxbury Beach in Massachusetts, an important nesting spot in this state; here it is generally frowned upon if you try to disturb the little guys when they are nesting as, quite bluntly, they are the cutest little birdies on the beach/unofficial mascot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.67.140.213 ( talk) 12:15, 4 January 2008 (UTC) reply

I work with the Piping Plover durring the summer breeding season on Long Island. Being an avid birder in general it is a pleasure and a privilege to help protect and conserve such a special part of our ecosystem. The Piping Plover is a tough little bird with a lot of character. They are definitely a bird you can sit and watch for long periods of time.-- Beaun ( talk) 14:00, 5 January 2009 (UTC) OGGA BOOGA BOOGA — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.117.29.206 ( talk) 20:42, 4 February 2013 (UTC) reply
