No surprise that Wikipedia steals content, but at least fucking re-word it first, kids. -- 76.209.58.121 22:18, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Any info on the cause/nature of his death?

no indication why he was knighted. It's not a Baronetage, and he doesn't have a K in his post nominals. Any ideas? Petsco ( talk) 13:48, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
For whoever demanded citations for "nessiteras rhombopteryx" being an anagram of "monster hoax by sir peter s":
Check it step-by-step if you need it. I mean, this is an anagram - it's not like you need anything more than pen and paper to verify it. - Norwegian Guy, 19:03, 4Jan08 (GMT)
There's a couple of strange things in the choice of honorifics after his name. The first is MID (Mentioned in Dispatches). This is an inferior military award to the DSC (Distinguished Service Award). Do we list inferior awards to a person who ended up with a higher award? Perhaps in the text, but after the name? I assume we have a policy on this...
Second, FZS is not an achievement award; it's just what the Zoological Society called its members at that time. Surely we don't put membership categories as post-nominals? Actually, Scott was important in the FZS, which justifies mention in the text. But post-nominal?
There's a similar issue with honorary academic degrees. Do we list, as post-nominals, degrees awarded the same as if they were degrees earned as a result of dissertations or examinations? Perhaps we already have guidance on this, but if so I have not found it in our Style Guide categories. Anyway, I'm inclined to think that the MID and FZS should come out of the post-nominals. Both the lede and the infobox say DSC*, and the page is listed under the category "Recipients of the Distinguished Service Cross and Bar (United Kingdom)," but only one DSC is mentioned and none of the Gazette pages given as references make mention of a bar. 24.61.4.237 ( talk) 03:28, 23 August 2014 (UTC)
BBC TV ran a programme called `Look' presented by Peter Scott from the 1950's to the 1970's. This is surely worth mentioning if there is a consensus. More on the Slimbridge Wildfowl centre may also be woth adding. Barney Bruchstein ( talk) 22:19, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
