This article needs a section concerning regulation of the personal genomics industry. Here are some recent articles of note, representing both sides of the issue. The article should provide additional historical context:

This section is written like an advertisement and I'd support pruning of the information there. The pages it links to are apparently the work of a single author who lacks NPOV. Cariaso ( talk) 21:15, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Shouldn't there be some mention of National Geographic's Genographic Project? ( https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/) This is a legitimate non-profit personal genomics project at least as reputable as the others listed here. 99.116.99.66 ( talk) 04:03, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
The list of projects in the article space was divided between commercial and non-commercial projects. I removed this distinction because in research the divide is not as clear as it is in, for example, material goods distribution. Non-profit genetics enterprises frequently happen with commercial funding and at the behest of commercial research requests. Without information within an article stating the nature of the non-profit funding model I do not think it is appropriate to make a commercial versus non-profit legal registration the primary categorization scheme for these projects.
