Some sources say Alcántara played for The Philippines but I can not find any clear evidence to back this up and includ the fact in article. If he did I am guessing it was between 1916 and 1918. Can anybody verify this ? Djln-- Djln 00:22, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Not definite but possible inaccuracies... Alcántara is referred in some places as Filipino and some others as Filipino/Spanish. The article goes for the former.. Also while it is well known, of his father being Spanish, his mother's nationality being Filipino or otherwise is not clear.. Could specific sources be provided? If not verifiable, would'nt Philippine-born not be a more accurate usage? Also the type of language used, and highly questionable use of expletives are to be reviewed. like will go down as one of the greatest strikers.., considering Barcelona was competing in Catalan tournaments and the level of competition at the time. -- Su30 12:34, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
No doubt, Alcántara is the greatest and best Barca player ever and will always be number 1...homes.. Ramírez 01:24 am October 1, 2006 (UTC)
Alcántara had two different spells at FC Barcelona - 1912 to 1916 and 1918 to 1927. In between he played for Bohemians of Manila. This needs to be made clear in info box. His goal tally for the club also needs to be divided into these two periods and not just lumped together. In addition the info box template states that only league goals should be included. In this case only goals scored in Championat de Catalunya should be included. In addition, although Alcántara was born in the Philippines, he was raised in and spent most of his life in Spain and therefore should be described as Filipino Spanish. He has already been included in this category. Djln-- Djln 21:26, 10 October 2006 (UTC) hi my name is you —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.244.67.22 ( talk) 00:51, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
The bottom of the infobox states "Senior club appearances and goals counted for the domestic league only." According to one of the footnotes on List of FC Barcelona players, around 2/3 of his goals were scored in friendlies, therefore they should not be included in the infobox..... -- ChrisTheDude ( talk) 14:41, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Paulino Alcantara's ancestry is Filipino and Spanish ancestry. His mother was Filipino and his father was Spanish. He was a dual citizen of both the Philippines and Spain. He re-presented both countries. http://www.world-football-legends.co.uk/alcantara.php —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.104.194.187 ( talk) 12:39, 14 August 2010 (UTC) On the Web of FCbarcelona they mentioned 357 goals on 357 games, in another article they said 369. Aclarification regarding this numbers and the one publish in wikipedia need to be made (wikipedia says 527). In the Museum of FC Barcelona the reference is 357 on 357 games. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 111.68.59.76 ( talk) 07:53, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
http://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporada_1912-1913_del_FC_Barcelona I think that it is necessary to eliminate the victory of Alcantara in the Copa de Catalunya ( 0 caps... ) and to put the victory in the Pyrenees Cup ( 1 cap and 2 goals !!! ). 151.75.24.215 ( talk) 15:58, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
