Who's Aideen Nicholson, and in whose cabinet did this person serve? HistoryBA 03:08, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Aideen Nicholson was the Liberal MP for the riding of Trinity from 1974 to 1988. She held the portfolios of Consumer and Corporate Affairs (as well as Postmaster General) in the Trudeau government from 4 March 1980 - 30 September 1980.
Hellyer was on Tucker Carlson's show Dec 9, 2005, saying that the Bush administration is going to put a base on the Moon to counter attacks from extraterrestrials. Bubba73 (talk), 15:19, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
Is it really neccesary to put Hellyer under that category? His views may be a little off centre, but I don't think he's alleging any sort of grand conspiracy. Also, his beliefs regarding ufo's are a very small part of his overall political worldview. If no one minds, I'll remove the category. 207.6.31.119 04:59, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
He is now claiming that the US has alien technology which could be used to combat global warming. He is 83, so I would say he is going senile, but he has been saying things like this for years. When he was defense minister, didn't Canada have nuclear warheads on their anti-aircraft missiles? -- Amcalabrese 17:08, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
I find this disturbing too. During all of human history we have only sent out 17 messages. THAT'S IT! (radio waves and television signals don't count, because by the time they reach a sentient planet, they'll be indistinguishable from background radiation. 24.56.247.13 ( talk) 10:14, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Since when has Mr. Hellyer been given the title of Right Honourable? Ctjj.stevenson ( talk) 04:38, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Since he has been a member of the Privy Council! 81.129.175.158 ( talk) 21:51, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Here's the linkfarm growing wildly at the bottom of the page. They need pruning, and some of these can be brought into the article--others will be deleted, per WP:EL.

I've once again removed a number of inappropriate links, all of which turned out to be repeated from the above cull, from this article's external links section. Again, links of this type may be cited as references, if the source is reliable and the content they're supporting is notable enough to merit mention in the article, but they do not belong as an uncontextualized list of offsite URLs under the external links heading. The external links section is only for the one or two most centrally important pages on the topic; for a political figure, that begins and ends at their own personal website and/or their parliamentary biography on the Parliament of Canada website — nothing else belongs in that section. With the renaming of those services is someone going to update the page with that info? Seems his ideas were not thought that great by everyone. Bloggins762 ( talk) 07:52, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Agreed! It has been 3 years since this change was reversed, why has this not been noted on this page?
Is it protected simply to protect the views of whomever protected it?
Why the protection if the page isn't going to be updated with relevant information?
If this isn't changed soon the protection should be removed.

Hellyer is of the school that recommends reversion of the now privatized creation and control of the money supply (monetary power).
This is one of Hellyer's recent articles on this subject: "A 'Global Hope Plan' to End the Worldwide Financial Crisis" [1]
Hellyer's own web site is PaulHellyerWeb.com, on the home page of which he says that monetary reform is the single biggest issue that the world faces.
A related web site, Victory for the World: "was initiated by Andre Bernier, former member of parliament for Richmond-Wolfe, Hon. Paul Hellyer, former Minister of National Defense, Hon. Jack Murta, former Minister of State for Multiculturalism, Richard Priestman, past President of the Kingston Chapter of the Committee on Monetary and Economic Reform, Ray Stone, Broadcaster, and Keith Wilde PhD, economist,. . Please remove 'Some of the aliens hail from the "Zeta Reticuli, the Pleiades, Orion, Andromeda, and Altair star systems and may have different agendas" ' from the second to last line of the Extraterrestrial Issues section. I have listened to Hellyer's testimony from the Citizen's Hearing on Disclosure, and he never claimed to know where the ETs are from. It is a fabrication. Please insert 'Hellyer claims that there are several species of ETs that "may have different agendas." ' BicPentameter ( talk) 01:27, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
Not a fabrication. Listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLOL82hwJjI Starts at 1:10

Why hasn't the changes returning the Canadian military back to it's former titles been noted? The changes he made were not in any means a success. 71.35.125.233 ( talk) 21:58, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
