I agree, mostly it is about neo paganizing AA, and maybe deserves a note in AA article, but does not warrant one of its one.

Just a shot in the dark, but are there enough "splinter groups" that seperate from one or more of the traditional 12 step ideologies that we could make one page for all of them?

Agree with the comments above and more-so than the concept shown here, I hardly see how this is considered its own group on the list of
Addiction recovery groups and linked to this page, which makes no mention of the availability of specific AA groups, resources, management, and literature geared to pagans

This article hasn't become more notable in the past nine years, and I don't see how it can. As was noted back then, this is a phrase (despite the capitalization), not a group or a movement. It is also written poorly, but it serves the purpose of helping Pagans find solutions. I am presently researching an article on Pagan recovery models for The Wild Hunt, which hopefully will serve that purpose, because that's not what Wikipedia is for. I may prod this later when I have some time.--~

During several automated bot runs the following external link was found to be unavailable. Please check if the link is in fact down and fix or remove it in that case!
Material at the bottom about Alcoholics Anonymous not the Pagan version?
There's a lot of material at the bottom about problems in AA, "13th Stepping", court cases, which seems about AA not the Pagan version. The notes about the ruling concerning the religious nature seem specifically not related to the pagan version. —Preceding

I read the page and agree. all this stuff has been covered on the AA page, and none of it spacificly adresses how the pagans are spacificly affected by it. I think it should be removed...but it does add humor to the fact we have a link to the pagen "13 step" page...obviously the pagens are giving instruction on sexual abuse(its a joke, don't be pissed).

Ok, I am going to remove the section that dosn't relate to pagans spacificly unless someone has an objection. I will do this...tomorow I think will be a good time.

Those sections got added back in based on the stance that "pagans need to be warned about 13th steping" and "pagans should be informed about court rulings".
I deleted them because in the case of the 13th stepping, Pagens arn't mentioned at all thus it is
WP:SYNTH and
WP:OR.
The same goes for the court cases, that and it is really redundant to mention that 12 step programs are considered religious on a page that talks about people dealing with the religious nature of 12 step programs.

After careful review, there is nothing in the section "First Amendment Violations, the Courts and 12 Step Recovery" that isn't already discussed in a more encyclopedic style in
Alcoholics Anonymous#United States Court rulings. Pagans in Recovery isn't mentioned here at all. I am removing the entire section, but adding a see also link to the section of the AA article.

I'd like to request clean-up on the article page. Yes, aa does offer a variety of meetings, (gay, women's, etc.), but even with a variety of meetings offered it's important to note, "the aa program remains religious and 12 step based." I believe the comparison of aa to paganism, is a non-neutral POV ... Giada

Never felt unwelcome in recovery
I am a member of ACoA/ACA (Adult Children of Alcoholics/Adult Children Anonymous. I am not an alcoholic so I have never been to an AA meeting. ACA adapted the 12 Steps from AA. Our Step 3 reads "Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood God." And we usually always speak of our Higher Power. I grew up in the 80's New Age movement which spoke mostly of a Higher Power. Certainly ACA is spiritual in nature but at least the groups I go to make no mention of any religion. In fact, we explain to any newcomers that no particular faith is endorsed. I feel lucky because I consider myself pagan and my fellow group members know this and have never had a problem with it.

POV Check
This article, especially the headings, sounds like it is a pamphlet written by an organization promoting its ideals. Some review and tweaking could help.

I am willing to look into this to increase neutral POV in the article, if someone can please reference which parts need revising.

Updated References and External Links to Fix Bare Urls
I wanted to post this here to ask if it's alright to remove the "clean up bare urls" template message. I did my best at filling out the needed information in the cite web templates for each link.
