Why is the website encrypted? And who is this guy? https://www.owens.edu/library/images/sink.jpg
I removed the following sentence from the main article:
Owens was named in honor of former Toledo mayor Donna Owens ( 1983- 1989)
The reasoning is that the school was called Owens Technical College in the 1970s. I don't think they would name it to honor future Toledo mayor Donna Owens, so if someone can provide a source as to the school's name, please change the article accordingly. - Oatmeal batman 05:20, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
With re: to the name of college--I believe it was named for Michael J. Owens, a major leader in the early 1900's glass industry of Toledo, OH. Would you please make this change? Thanks.
This page was used by the college to demonstrate the hazards of online only research. With the page locked and featuring factual information, students with existing course materials relating to the wiki will be unaware of what has happened. Wikipedia you need to fix this problem. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 131.187.253.130 ( talk • contribs) {{{2}}}.
Why shouldn't the school be allowed to use its own Wiki as a teaching tool? The persons entering the information are employees of Owens Community College and their actions are known to all at the college.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.1.214.48 ( talk • contribs) {{{2}}}.
Vandalizing a wiki to test how well they respond is about as accademic as starting a fire to see how long it takes the firetrucks to arrive. HighInBC 14:20, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm very glad we have so many philosophers on this article. Why don't you go edit things that have a little more importance than a small community college in small town Ohio? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.1.214.48 ( talk • contribs) {{{2}}}.
Nothing has citation, so why don't you delete the entire article, Aardvark?
I don't see how any of this is able to be up. There aren't any reliable sources or citations.
Can I use my blog as citations? I run a blog about what happens at the school. -Dr Jack.
What was the deal with the senior administration being deleted on grounds of being a "directory"? This article is ABOUT a college. In case you forgot or don't understand, ElKevbo, the president has a major role in determining the direction in which the college goes. The same is said for the "senior administration". So, to summarize, you have deleted not a "directory", but important facts about the college. Would you like to defend your actions? I yield the floor.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.187.253.130 ( talk • contribs) 23:00, January 25, 2007
Apologies for the way my previous message may have been taken...
Is anyone planning to add a section on the planned Tiffin campus?
It is nice to see the Tiffin campus coming along. In a week or so I hear they will be announcing who the dean of the new campus will be. I am extremely excited about this coming event.
I fail to understand why the Owens marketing department has been editing their wikipedia page and removing information. They are trying to hide their partnership with 3M AND their new Tiffin campus. What's the deal? Why deny that these things are true, they are bringing you more money, right? I guess that's what happens when you work at a school that is losing students but continues to claim they have record highs. What a shame.
