I thought it was Wikipedia policy to name articles according to the Wikipedia language, i.e., English on English Wikipedia. The German name should be the redirect. -- RenniePet ( talk) 13:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Is this not moved yet?
The discussion (above) is over a year old, and there is no good reason for the article to stay at "Bundesverdienstkreuz".
Also, regarding Google hits; I got almost 3 million for "Federal Cross of Merit", so I’m going with that as the
common name.
Moved, per
WP:ENGLISH.

It looks like the "medal" and "cross" ribbon images are reversed. The "medal" should not contain the cross. Can someone fix this. I am not really a computer expert. I've tried numerous searchers to find a source. So much for an internet search. They all point back to Wikipedia as the source. The result of the move request was: moved to Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany Peter Karlsen ( talk) 03:49, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
Federal Cross of Merit →
Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany — Hello, I would like to suggest to move the article to "Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany". To my mind, this would be more appropriate as this is the official English version of the order's name, whereas "Federal Cross of Merit" is just a translation of the colloquial German "Bundesverdienstkreuz". It is in itself not even the name of any of the classes of the Order of Merit. --

The following was deleted moments after it was added as "not notable". What are opinions on this? It can be argues that this is more notable than the most of those who accepted the honour. If, after consideration, it is deemed notable, please re-add.
In April 2021 Cardinal Reinhard Marx refused the Federal Cross of Merit, in acknowledgement of the anger of groups of victims of Catholic sexual abuse of children over what they viewed as the church's inadequate response to the claims. [1]
