I see multiple issues with this article, namely in terms of notability and sourcing. Keeping in mind Wikipedia's notability standards for living people, has the subject been widely cited as important to his field, or qualify under WP:CREATIVE or WP:ENT? He may be, but if he is it is not cited on the article in question. The second major point for the tag is that there is a severe lack of sourcing. The sources cited are either affiliated with the subject or are subjective and based on opinion from dubious sources. An Afd discussion may be in the works for this one.-- SamHolt6 ( talk) 20:22, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

Onision falsely slandered Shane Dawson such as in "Responding To What Shane Dawson Said To Me" in his OnisionReacts channel. One of Onision's biggest controversies of the top grading YouTuber Shane Dawson according to Social Blade spread into the news such as The Huffington Post, In Touch Weekly, Billboard, and more. Onision has a consistent loss subscribers on YouTube according to Social Blade, losing hundreds of subscribers on Onision, UhOhBro,OnisionReacts, and more until recently when Onision made a new channel called "New Channel" which is the only channel of Gregory Jackson (Onision) that is gaining subscribers. In Onision's video "What Is My Name?" Onision responds to his biggest controversy with a new channel and name, "I have no other name but Character now. Regarding this and this, A Simple Fool, Bubblesorg, and others, keep what WP:BLP states in mind. This obviously includes its Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Reliable sources section. If I keep seeing content like this, I will take the matter to the WP:BLP noticeboard. Flyer22 Reborn ( talk) 17:34, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
I have just made this edit. I have reviewed the BLP conversation above and made sure that my addition is sourced only from two sources Wikipedia considers generally reliable. The majority of the edit deals with the Patreon deactivation and includes a direct quote from a Patreon spokesman as reported by the source in question. I have furthermore taken effort to use language which is as neutral as possible. In addition, I have added a Current Event template which states clearly that some sources may be unreliable. As a note to other, potentially newer, editors: this does not mean that unreliable sources should be used. The most reliable sources are always preferred when editing Wikipedia. The Pony Toast 🍞 ( Talk) 19:55, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
I removed most of the personal life section a few days ago as it only seemed to be sourced to primary sources, videos from Onision [2]. Looking more carefully, it seems like some of these videos may in fact involve his husband so technically WP:ABOUTSELF could be argued to apply but I'm unconvinced we should include information on non notable individuals when the only sources are from the subject and the non-notable individual.
I missed the infobox until now and have just removed most info from it which was similarly unsourced [3].
I left the info on his first wife, as it is partly sourced to something which I guess could be a reliable secondary source. "Partially" because the source sort of suggests the divorce happened in 2010, it's frankly not particularly clear. (It suggests they were still together in early 2010, then it mentions an agreement regarding their mutual divorce in late 2010, which doesn't of course mean the divorce has been finalised, but then it does say she is the ex-wife from late 2010 to early 2011.) "Could be" because frankly that source just seems to be documenting random stuff Onision (and maybe others) have posted. Of course analysing primary sources is a key part of what secondary sources do but it's not particularly clear to me they've applied the critical eye we expect from reliable secondary sources. In addition, they don't actually do a lot of summarising of the info, it's mostly just a timeline of the stuff that was posted. Still this seems innocuous enough to just let be in the infobox although I won't be adding it back to the article.
As for the second spouse, there is some mention in that source, but frankly the details are very unclear so I'm unconvinced we should add anything about them to the article without better sourcing.

This article talks noting about the real public, and social media life of Greg. It's focuses purely on achievements, and childhood to adulthood. It is clearly an autobiography, and clearly biased. The vague warnings at the top are correct, and page should be changed as such. McrEng ( talk) 00:01, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
The section on Jackson's writings (his self-published novellas) has been removed; this includes both the listing of the novellas, as well as the criticism the writings received from Strange Æons (stylized in all-caps), a fellow YouTuber. If that criticism was sourced by that YouTuber's own video, that would obviously fail WP:SELFPUB policy as per that policy's guideline to "Never use self-published sources as third-party sources about living people, even if the author is an expert, well-known professional researcher, or writer."
However, that YouTuber's criticism was cited in a third-party source, Mashable, which hasn't been shown to fail WP:SOURCE (to my knowledge). I believe it would actually be fairly easy to argue that it passes that policy. Here is the specific source in question that was removed: [1]
The source provided a citation for the following section: Jackson has self-published three novellas, each as Onision. Mashable cited YouTuber Strange Æons' review and commentary of Jackson's first novella, writing "Did anyone actually want to read controversial YouTuber Onision's terrible novel? Absolutely not. Will we delay getting out of bed to listen to STRANGE ÆONS make fun of it? Hell yeah."
I was wondering if we could have a talk page discussion here, on whether to reinstate the removed source. Whether the sentence it was sourcing should be included is perhaps a different discussion. User:Seraphimblade removed the source, only describing Mashable as "not a particularly good reference" in an edit summary, but not providing an explanation as to why it isn't. I feel as if the credibility, reliability, and verifiability can be fairly easily established with this particular source, and it's not as if it's being applied to an exceptionally controversial claim or anything of that nature. I touch on this more in a reply to Seraphimblade's block-warning message on my talk page.
Now once the issue of the source's verifiability is settled, I am quite aware this brings up the issue of whether or not it should be included in the article. I believe it should be. His writings are not a one-time thing for him; he self-published three novellas from 2015 to 2018. They are therefore fair game for inclusion in this article, as it is a BLP. It makes sense to then, include the reception to those writings. As of today (Dec. 1, 2019), I was only able to find a sourcing for fellow YouTuber's reception of those writings. Again, this isn't some random content creator's opinion sourced by that creator's own video. It is the opinion of a YouTuber with a rather sizable audience, cited by a verifiable source.
I would just like the feedback and opinion of other editors. All and any of that feedback is appreciated. Thanks and best wishes, Soulbust ( talk) 08:18, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

I don't know where to add this to the page, so I'll just put it here in case someone else does.
Onision has at least 11 connected YouTube channels all presumably owned and run by him. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure what source I could site to show that he does, in fact, own and run them (as opposed to them merely being conspicuously connected) other than the channels themselves. While there's not really any reason to think otherwise, it isn't necessarily definitive.

I believe several of them are functionally, if not entirely, abandoned at this point; Some have no videos, others haven't had new videos for a relatively long time, and the about pages of some contain Patreon links, even though he has been removed (and, unless I'm mistaken, banned) from Patreon.
This abandonment is, however, purely speculation on my part.
I also know that he owns and has owned more websites than are currently listed on the page, but I don't know any details pertaining to any of them so I won't comment on them further.

So, this article is supposed to be about a YouTuber "primarily known for controversial opinions who was then confronted with many allegations of grooming and abuse". However, you can't really tell *WHAT* his "controversial opinions" are, as 99.99999% of this article is about his private life and tabloid media claims about it which time and again people on this talkpage emphasize violates a ton of WP policies, including such on reliable sources, except for a rape claim by a then 18-year-old who was in his custody.
What this guy did outside of all this tabloid gossip about him (which obviously went nowhere for years outside of getting him banned on a few social media outlets, and after a decade of tabloid gossip two investigations into the gossip) and related social media bans based on this tabloid stuff is hardly enough for a stub: A "Banana Song", a parody of some cartoon character, a potential case of doxxing he committed, once saying that "sluts can't be raped", and once uploading a video of himself throwing candy at his GF. Overall, we can't tell the entire notability of this article's subject or what supposedly "controversial opinions" he's supposedly been airing for years, as all we're presented with is nothing but a lot of tabloid gossip about him.
Basically, a concise lead considering the actual gossip material in the article would much rather be, "is a rapist seeking victims on social media", and nothing but that. That's what the entire article seems to be about. What little we get about his supposed YT content is only used as pretend evidence for that. -- 2003:DA:CF34:9396:70E3:8E45:E497:9AEF ( talk) 18:59, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
The intro says he is an alleged child predator. Just because someone is accused or alleged to be something, that doesn't make it relevant enough to put in the article, let alone the introduction.
