I would argue that this person fits a criteria for inclusion by an academic:-
"The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources".
He has written the definitive biography of James IV, an important Scottish king, which has gone through 2 revised editions, plus an important biography of James III and some other publications. PatGallacher ( talk) 12:01, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
