Just to keep things clear: the Mystic China Sourcebook is a totally seperate book from Mystic China. The MCS was announced and adverts for it appeared in the gamer press, but it was never released. JustIgnoreMe 00:44, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
There is an inconsistency to resolve. Not owning a 1st edition (I only have Revised) I am unable to check the book itself for a date. Ranze ( talk) 00:30, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Noticed a Q and A from 2007 at http://ninjasandsuperspies.yuku.com/topic/404 which suggests otherswise:
I checked the inside of my book, a Seventh Printing from May, 2000. This is what I read on page 2:
The first line supports what I believe may be the problem. 9 is right next to 0. I believe someone meant to write "August 1990" and did a third 9 instead of a 0. I am going to change the Revised date based on this.
As for the second line, this goes beyond what I asked about in the previous topic. This suggests an even earlier date of origin than 88 or 87, that it might be 86 or 85 or 84. If it was indeed 88 as the Yuku and our introductory line suggests, it begs the question why KS would have copywritten the term 4 years prior. Was it possibly in production that long?
I am not going to change the original book's date, but I will change the revised one. Ranze ( talk) 00:38, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
