The mantra he expounded on 1253 April 28, Nam-Myōhō-Renge-Kyō, expresses his devotion to that body of teachings. .... If this is the fourth month in the lunar calendar, this is not the same as 'April'. What would be the correct Gregorian date ? Is this anniversary celebrated today in Japan ? If so, when ? -- PFHLai 03:34, 2005 Apr 22 (UTC)
Thank you, User:2605:E000:2198:DF00:5026:31F9:5A2F:72A3, for your edits. You tightened the article and improved its flow. BrandenburgG ( talk) 22:35, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
Added a link to the Nichiren Wikipedia page. Explanation of the teachings presented in much more detail there.-- Daveler16 ( talk) 17:02, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Removed the link and just added a "Main Article" tag. -- Daveler16 ( talk) 22:45, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
Added a journal reference concerning relationship between enlightenment and society.-- Daveler16 ( talk) 18:47, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
If every ex-Soka Gakkai member decides he/she is an "organization" and is listed here, the article would be massive and not really very informative. "Proud Black Buddhists" (among others) was removed once before for that reason, and is again. Please let's discuss things like this. -- Daveler16 ( talk) 17:48, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
I agree. Unless it is credible and accepted by the larger Buddhist community, it is a mis-direction to post it among established schools. Ltdan43 ( talk) 23:24, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
"The truth of Buddhism has nothing to do with the opinion of the majority. All that is important is whether a belief is in accord with the scriptures. And, further, the golden words of the Buddha have already informed us that in the age of the Latter Day of the Law those who uphold the Right Dharma would be few in number. Thus the Nirvana Sutra says that "those who uphold the Right Dharma are as few as the grains of earth on a fingernail, and those that slander the Dharma are as numerous as the earth in of all the ten directions". - Nichiren 2602:304:595F:79C9:FDF9:4EE:67F2:D415 ( talk) 06:18, 11 May 2019 (UTC) Mark Rogow
This is the second most important doctrine of Nichiren and should be highlighted: https://markrogow.blogspot.com/2019/03/absolute-proof-that-nichiren-shoshu.html 2602:304:595F:63D9:A47A:D1B4:F2C9:A50E ( talk) 01:41, 19 September 2019 (UTC) Mark Rogow
The independent movement, including Proud Black Buddhist, scriptural Buddhists, Daimoku chanters only, NBAA, "secular Buddhists" prob probably numbers in the thousands. Of course, this is anecdotal. A poll might help to answer this question. 2602:304:595F:63D9:A47A:D1B4:F2C9:A50E ( talk) 01:41, 19 September 2019 (UTC) Mark Rogow
Soka Gakkai is actually an offshoot of Nichiren Shōshū, originally a lay organisation associated with Nichiren Shōshū. It's not a different sect. Nichirenshū is a completely different set of beliefs. PeepleLikeYou ( talk) 12:12, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
