The very first sentence of this article states "...commemorating the Vietnam Declaration of Independence from France on September 2, 1945". Two short sentences below, it also states "The Japanese occupied Vietnam during World War II but allowed the French to remain and exert some influence". So... shouldn't that be independent from Japan OFFICIALLY? — Preceding
