Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak al Nahyan is no longer the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He was sworn in as Minister of Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Social Development on March 17th, 2013.

Sheikh Nahyan was also sponsor since 1991 of the well known humanitarian international organization, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).
