2008 rally on Thursday! -- Dyefade ( talk) 23:54, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Why is Ford Motor Company mentioned in this article as a british company ?? As far as I know, Ford was ALWAYS an AMERICAN company, based at Dearborn, Michigan, USA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.80.191.190 ( talk) 11:31, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
It does not matter where the rally team is based. For example: in Formula One, Red Bull is austrian, Renault is french, Force India is indian, Mercedes is german, though they all are based in the UK. Ford is just so american marque as Mercedes is german, Peugeot is french, Honda is japan, etc... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.80.191.190 ( talk) 11:50, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Hi, I'm a spanish wikipedia user, sorry for my english. A have a question, is really the third edition in 1924? I have references in 1923. Bye. -- Jorjum ( talk) 11:41, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: pages moved. Arbitrarily0 ( talk) 00:01, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
– These articles were recently moved by a user who does not engage in discussion but insists that these articles use the official names (actually, Monte-Carlo has a hyphen and México an accent). However, rally competitions are commonly referred to by their short names, and the official ones are rarely used even in the host countries. Prolog ( talk) 16:15, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
In the results for 1952, second place is credited to Stirling Moss/D. Scannell/John Cooper, which is correct. However, John Cooper's name is linked to the John Cooper of the Cooper Car Company, and that is incorrect. According to Sir Stirling's own book "All My Races", page 88, the John Cooper he co-drove the Monte Carlo Rally with in 1952 was the editor of Autocar, not the John Cooper of the Cooper Car company. Moss makes that quite clear in the text and the caption of the photo on that page showing them with the car says "John 'Autocar' Cooper" as well. Bill321 ( talk) 14:03, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

The winning cars in 1949 and 1950 were Hotchkiss 686 GS models, not Hotchkiss-Grégoires. Having been misled by this in preparing a magazine feature, I have now corrected it. Heckmotor97 ( talk) 12:22, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
Correct! I have made many more corrections as to specific car and driver data. Feel free to check these, may be I am making mistakes as well. One interesting thing I found was the participation of Jean Behra, the then unknown later formula 1 driver. His car was not the sporting Simca 8 coupe, but the regular model. Remarkable achievement!. I have researched some additional information on the participants, cars and itineraries of the Rallye. Some names were imcomplete or misspelled, some cars missed the type of car. I added starting numbers and license plates to identify more easily photographs of the participants. More importantly, in the early decades of the Rallye, the way to drive to Monte Carlo was often the most challenging part, so I added the place of departure. I am considering adding data on the passengers as well. This is just as important as the codriver, because points were given for more passengers. Finally - work in progress, so give me some time - I have tried to improve the information on female (lady) drivers and co-drivers. Nowhere in Motorsports, the role of women is so important as in the Rallye of Monte Carlo! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:1C02:2B22:F400:E9F0:B26A:30FE:6A8C ( talk) 17:10, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

Yes, that will be very helpfull! And I agree, it is much more visible where informastion is still lacking. Bytheway, the information on the French language page is rather different, sometimes better. Also, the text in the introduction is much more comprehensive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gallimons ( talk • contribs) 13:26, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
Today, I have added a main story on the prewar history of the Rally. Not a year by year summary, but an analysis of the changes from different aspects over the decades. Please feel free to contribute. I am planning to add a main story on the postwar era as well but have to do some research for that! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gallimons ( talk • contribs) 16:33, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
I have added a chapter on remarkable drivers (with many appearances), which adds a colourful touch to the Monte story. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gallimons ( talk • contribs) 18:50, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
I have added some pictures but there are problems with rights, so they will be removed. Anyone who can contribute to this article by adding wikimedia commons rights-free pictures: please help! I do not have a lot of experience on this mater and clearly rights are a complex matter! Gallimons ( talk) 06:43, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
The prose and general structuring of this article isn't at all encyclopaedic and it's in desperate need of a complete rewrite. While it does have references, it has far from enough and much of the article comes across as if it may be original research. Considering the importance of the event and the wealth of sources available it should be possible to get this article to good or even featured status with a concerted effort, but right now it's clearly in need of a well thought out restructuring and rewrite. Right now I'm not even sure where to start. I've removed some of the excessive images and added a cleanup template, but a lot more work needs to be done.
