Do you notice how there is no Spanish version of this article at all? I think North Americans (and maybe Europeans) have some sort of an obsession with large, invisible, ape-like creatures in the woods that come to eat people. I'm not sure why. Editfromwithout ( talk) 18:05, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

I've just read the article and some related wikis, and I am wondering
I don't want to open a forum here (which would be against Wikipedia guidelines), I just wanted to mention that the conclusion of Mono Grande / Maricoxi being nothing but hoaxes may be rashed. Yes, we can pretty certainly rule out some great ape or archaic human because there is absolutely no evidence that any Old World monkey except Homo sapiens has reached America by natural means. But a more primitive monkey of human size could still be interpreted as something "almost human" by those who encounter it (as even upright standing bears can be misinterpreted as some sort of "human" - a common explanation for Bigfoot and Yeti sightings). By the way, bears might also be a possible explanation here. -- 130.83.182.66 ( talk) 14:20, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
