– Discussion at
Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#How different do article names need to be? is yielding a rapid consensus that these minor spelling differences should require further disambiguation. It was also noted that
Mohamed Omar (footballer) first name is spelled with two M's in the article and
by his club team, so I've used the new spelling here. I propose two options: Nationality (as all earned international caps for their national team for their birth nation (apart from the first) and YOB.
Comment My personal preference as nominator is Option 1. I know wp:footy tends to like birth year (and I used to vote like that as well), but I feel nationality is much clearer to a reader and is also consistent with
WP:NCSP, especially when majority of these players played for national teams.

Option 2 per the standard modus operandi. Though, if we do reach a consensus to disambiguate per country I wouldn't be against that.

Option 2 in case more footballers of the same name comes from one of these countries for future proof reasons. Wouldn't mind option 1 for now judging that the years of birth is relatively spread out.

Option 2 is more future-proof in case another one with same name and nationality comes along but as per GiantSnowman, I'd do a redirect also from option 1.— NZFC(talk)(cont)00:52, 16 May 2022 (UTC)reply
