This year's is #41, making it one of the oldest SF conventions in the world. It's my local convention as well, and has been important to me for years, but I think simple longevity is of some relevance for this kind of event.

Other wikipedians are also real people who know things. It is standard to be able to cite personal conversations as sources. Note that I did not cite myself, which would be obviously fishy. :-) --

This article needs some independent sources such as newspaper articles, TV or radio coverage, or mention in a book or magazine. Links to the sponsors and to the Con website do not establish notability. And personal knowledge is considered original research. I'm sure this Con has had some media coverage. Find it and cite it.--

Twin Cities newspapers of that vintage are not indexed or available online. I have added links to some fannish history sources. We lesser breeds are not well served by the mundane press, and must construct our own chronicles (most of which are contained in the vulnerable ephemera of fanzines). --
