Mina Loy was born Mina Lowy not Lowry. I know this because my grandmother was her sister. This is just sloppy.
What is the evidence that Loy had two children by Filipo Marinetti?
As far as I know, Mina Loy was staunchly heterosexual. Who has "speculated" that she had a relationship with Stein?
I completely agree. In every piece of published, verified literature that I have read about Loy, she was a self proclaimed heterosexual. I deleted that part of the wikipedia page, because in my opinion, speculation doesn't belong on a biblography page. Loy associated with homosexuals, that doesn't make her one.
Loy soon became a regular in the artistic and often lesbian community at Gertrude Stein's salon, where she met many of the leading avant garde artists and writers of the day, including novelist Djuna Barnes.
This seems off, or maybe just misplaced in the "Early Life" section. I'm not sure that the circle around Stein's salon was particularly lesbian during Loy's first stay in Paris, when Stein was still co-hosting the salon with her brother Leo (somewhat more so, I would have thought, after Alice B. Toklas moved in). In any case, Loy couldn't have met Djuna Barnes there at that time, since Barnes didn't move to Paris until 1920. They would more likely have met in New York, since they were both involved with the Provincetown Players around the same time.
I should be able to find a citation for when she met Barnes, but I'm not sure what the correct story is on when she started frequenting Stein's salon. —Cel ithemis 03:02, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Please check your facts before editing this article. A lot of statements here--and in the past--have been nothing more than speculation. I just fixed a couple, but will be back to do more. Carolyn Burke's biography is a comprehensive source of information, and those without access to it should really not be adding things. L Glidewell 17:55, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
maybe the Billy Corgan song should be mentioned in the Trivia?
