Why was it called Orange Hill, and when and why was it changed to Hill Mill? --

It was never called Orange Hill and this article is a little misleading. The school was originally called Moat Mount Secondary Modern. Orange Hill was a grammar school in Burnt Oak. In about 1971 Moat Mount school became a comprehensive. In the late 80s, Orange Hill was closed and merged with Moat Mount, creating a grant-maintained school. Moat Mount had had a bad reputation locally in the 60s and 70s, both academically and for problems with behaviour (school pupils and staff!). The modern school is quite different and much bigger. It now has 1700 kids compared to less than 1000 when I was there in the 70s.
I think this page used to have the history and I am puzzled why it was removed, leaving a confusing picture and eradicating the existence of Moat Mount completely. Particularly odd since the school backs onto Moat Mount fields.
